      Best motel experience

My best motel experience so far in the USA, much better than others. The room feels new and smells good. Clean toilet, walls, carpet, linen. Everything works, and there's even a pool which looks clean enough to use. No hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

      St. Pete's Beach, Fl

We're now further up the coast in St. Pete's Beach, FL. Sunny Florida has gone a bit cool on us with cloudy skies. We walked on the beautiful St. Pete's beach every day, sometimes twice a day, and generally relaxed, reading and watching tv. This is a summer vacation town and there's not much else to do here, especially in the off season.

After a couple days, we drove north to the Florida panhandle, staying for the weekend in ...

... sand castles. I snapped a photo of this older couple walking down the beach with their adult son, hand in hand just living in the moment. The water there was crystal clear and the sand was very fine and filled with many varieties of sea shells. We stayed as late as we could watching the sunset directly ahead of us dropping behind the clouds at water level. Just gorgeous! We vowed to return there and stay for a few days during our next Florida visit ...

... of glass. The pictures don't quite do it justice. Thursday was a quiet, cold, cloudy day that ended with a great supper at Crabby Bills. We had lovely oysters and a great sea food bucket! Today, Friday, the sun came out and it got warm. We tried flying kites but the wind was too shallow. Hoping for better luck on the Keys. Next stop - the ...

      Going Busch

Who's ever heard of Busch Gardens? It's an hour away from Orlando, near Tampa in fact, and doesn't have the brand or prestige of Disney or Universal but it has two of the best roller coasters we came across. It presents itself as a combination of theme park and zoo, with a large area given over to African 'savannah'. It was neat to see giraffes galloping along with plenty of space; we weren't ...

From viewing manatee to dancing on the Veranda

Today was a full and fun day. Yesterday it rained all day—so we stayed in and did some paperwork and little tasks around the RV. Today we woke up to clouds, so we were a little afraid we would have a repeat of yesterdays' weather. We decided to start our day early and hope for the best. We left our campsite in Wildwood headed toward Tampa.

We were so excited about the manatee that we ...
