... so I went and knocked on Jean's curtain door. He appeared and we told him the bed broke and that we wouldn't be coming back tonight. He looked like he might've cried. He didn't understand why we wouldn't stay, he would fix the bed for us...then he ******! And just like the presence of the other guests, we all pretended it didn't happen.

Jean was clearly a character of the theatrical persuasion, who claimed to be a 'world traveller'. He was friendly and ...

Today was a good day exploring Vermont. We saw lots of great covered bridges. Designed like this to stop the bridges getting icy and also to preserve their longevity. We stopped at the Bridge of Flowers, saw glacial potholes, iconic white churches and generally some beautiful driving. No festival in Woodstock but enjoying the tranquil town! Next stop New ...

Duff arrived home and decided now would be a good time for a bike ride so he and Ian got themselves kitted out - Duff's spare bike was the right size and the shoes he lent Ian were exactly the same as the shoes Ian has in Melbourne. Lin, Jesse and I headed out to see the farm that Caleb works on. It is amazing and is owned ...

Today Lin took another day off from school to show us more of Vermont. We headed west over to Rochester first so that we could meet Lin's sister Sue. It was lovely to meet her and now we have met the whole family except for her brother Paul from Florida. We then drove north through the Granville Gulf to again join Interstate 89 to Burlington. The Gulf is the American name for a river valley or a ravine. Burlington is on the shores of ...
