We found the staff to be nice, the room is clean and hotel itself looks nice. The bed was soft and the room equipment A/C unit and fridge was loud. We did not realize that the main takeoff runway directed the flights right over the hotel. The also said breakfast was included 1 type of Bagel, Bread and Muffin was not all that great.

Good value for our post cruise stay
We stayed for one night after a cruise and found the accomodation to be very good. We chose this hotel as we had stayed there a few years ago and it was good then.
We had a room on the second floor and it has recently been renovated and we found all to be nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bedlinen clean and fresh. We didn't use the pool but it looked to be o.k. and we would certainly recomend this hotel for a one night stay at a very reasonable price compared to others in the same area.
Also they provide a continental breakfast and although we only tried the coffee that was was exellent.
Good price, recently renovated
We booked one night at the Red Roof Inn for the night after our cruise, we couldn't get into our room before 3h00pm but it wasn't a big deal, we had a rental car and had plans for the afternoon.
Our room was on the main floor in the second building. The carpet was new as well as the bedding. The bathroom and towels looked clean, soap was provided. I believe this location has been recently renovated per the booklet that was in the room. It's a basic, no frills type of place, the pool looked nice but we didn't use it.
We had an early flight the next day so we used the automated phone system to place a wake-up call that never came, good thing I had set the alarm clock as well. It was a nice place to stay for a night plus we got a good rate, we'd stay here again before or after a cruise. The hotel also provides a shuttle to the airport.
The only negative was that the a/c unit wouldn't stay on, it would work for a minute then only the fan would work. We had to turn it on and off to get the room cooled down.
Among the worst
Rooms are in need for renovation, carpet is dirty, bathroom disgusting and smelly.
And the worst part of it: staff is absolutely unprofessional. They gave us a room that was already occupied by somebody else! When we opened the door with our electronic key, there were clothes and fast food bags all over the floor and somebody was taking a shower in the bathroom!
Never experienced something like this before, didn't feel safe that night at all. Would never stay "under the roof" again!
We ALMOST stayed at this motel, but checked out after we saw the room! It was not clean, in poor repair and had mold around the bathtub. Needless to say, we looked for and found much nicer accomodations at the same price.
I can't really comment on the hotel because they canceled our reservation which was already paid for. I called at 9pm to find out where to catch the shuttle when we got in since it would be really late. The desk clerk informed me they were sold out but I explained I'd made my reservation almost four months ago. She checked and said they'd pick me up and take me over to another hotel and they'd take care of everything. We got to the hotel by shuttle at 12:45am to find out we didn't have a room. There was a different clerk working and he said my reservation showed I'd called and canceled at 9. I told him what had been said and he said he was sorry but too bad. Offered to call me a cab, at my expense, and could recommend somewhere else to stay. the whole point of staying there was because they had shuttle service for airport and port and we wouldn't have to pay cab fare. We ended up staying at the Wellesly, which is way overpriced, paid $90 even though we got there at 2am. Had to pay out $50 in cab fare to get to hotel and to the port. All this for a room that was already paid for. I called and complained as soon as I got back home yesterday. Was advised they'd look into it but they would not reimburse for cab fare regardless of what happened. It was a really bad way to start a vacation.
Don't Book the Red Roof Inn Miami Airport!
One word, Horrible! I was in great need of a vacation and I chose to go to Miami. I chose to save money so I booked with the Red Roof Inn across the street from the Miami International Airport, BIG MISTAKE! The washer machines ate our money, the dryer didn't work, the idiot at the frontdesk was incompetent! The ice machine broke, the hallways were anything but clean, and the people who stayed there tend to have many children and pets who are loud and noisy at all hours of the day! Did I mention the elevator broke twice during my two week stay? How about the part where the toilet talks to you during the middle of the night, "gurgle, gurgle." Oh what about the fact that they get stingy with the soap and towels and you have to be thoughtful enough to have brought your own soap otherwise you'd be showering using your shampoo and drying yourself off on dirty towels!
The hotel was passable. However, the bathroom didn't look very clean and staff was unprofessional. Shuttle service to and from the airport was fairly good. I regularly visit Miami and stay close to the airport and there are better hotels that cost the same. I just tried Red Roof last time and won't probably go there again.
Just one word could describe our stay at the Red Roof Inn - awful. We had pre-booked and pre-paid for 2 rooms some six months ago - and had both the travel agents confirmation and the accomodation vouchers. Due to some admin. error, Red Roof Inn had cancelled one of our bookings and after some persuading we managed to get the front desk to allocate us a room - which was smoking rather than the non-smoking room which we had requested. The room was absolutely disgusting, it felt and smelt unclean and the Staff were less than sympathetic. Don't make the same mistake that we did - it's worth paying a bit more and having a decent night's sleep than going for the cheap option.
We stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Feb/04 and it was an overall pleasent experience. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and we used both the airport pickup service and the shuttle service to the port of Miami. Everything worked out great. The continential breakfast was good and there is even a nice family restaurant right next door. I would definitely stay here again.

Travel Blogs from Miami
... For Potter fans, I am not saying very much about the attractions as I don't want to spoil it if you go. For non Potter fans, some of this blog may sound like gibberish. I think Wills was concerned this was going to be the low point of his trip. He is not a fan of thrill rides and so 3 days surrounded by them was probably not his idea of fun.
... worried...to say the least. In a very touristy fashion we left the parkade without doing enough trip planning only to be welcomed on the outside by a barrage of signs for freeways that blended cash only tolls, pass tolls and untolled freeways. We were warned we'd be charged 25 USD for using the pass tolls, so we decided to play it safe and stick to regular roads. Well, that landed us a very scenic tour of the many ...
... too, the Braves won though. It was a good, cheap day at the ballpark-something we are not accustomed to in our neck of the woods.
We headed back to our condo and hung out by the pool the rest of the day/evening. We were surprised to see that they had a bar at the pool so we took advantage of the daily drink of the day - strawberry daiquiri and charged it to our room! What a life!!!

Once we hit the Florida Turnpike right above Homestead, it was a fast trip on into Miami. We found Highway 41 with no problem. Highway 41 is better known as the Tamiami Trail and runs from Miami over to Naples right through the everglades. Dan's friend told him there was a ...
... find we are not far from Las Olas Boulevarde, where we expect to find a fashionable shopping and an eating area, where we can get food and drink, and change for the shuttle we know passes along Las Olas, as we have seen one going the other way.
We walk through a suburban area, with a bridge over the extension of the Intracoastal Waterway, but can see no waterside dining, or any commercial activity at all. The time is passing, and we are glad to see a service ...
