      Not Bad just Not Good

We found the staff to be nice, the room is clean and hotel itself looks nice. The bed was soft and the room equipment A/C unit and fridge was loud. We did not realize that the main takeoff runway directed the flights right over the hotel. The also said breakfast was included 1 type of Bagel, Bread and Muffin was not all that great.

Good value for our post cruise stay

      from

We stayed for one night after a cruise and found the accomodation to be very good. We chose this hotel as we had stayed there a few years ago and it was good then.

We had a room on the second floor and it has recently been renovated and we found all to be nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bedlinen clean and fresh. We didn't use the pool but it looked to be o.k. and we would certainly recomend this hotel for a one night stay at a very reasonable price compared to others in the same area.

Also they provide a continental breakfast and although we only tried the coffee that was was exellent.

      Good price, recently renovated

      from

We booked one night at the Red Roof Inn for the night after our cruise, we couldn't get into our room before 3h00pm but it wasn't a big deal, we had a rental car and had plans for the afternoon.

Our room was on the main floor in the second building. The carpet was new as well as the bedding. The bathroom and towels looked clean, soap was provided. I believe this location has been recently renovated per the booklet that was in the room. It's a basic, no frills type of place, the pool looked nice but we didn't use it.

We had an early flight the next day so we used the automated phone system to place a wake-up call that never came, good thing I had set the alarm clock as well. It was a nice place to stay for a night plus we got a good rate, we'd stay here again before or after a cruise. The hotel also provides a shuttle to the airport.

The only negative was that the a/c unit wouldn't stay on, it would work for a minute then only the fan would work. We had to turn it on and off to get the room cooled down.

      Among the worst

      from

Rooms are in need for renovation, carpet is dirty, bathroom disgusting and smelly.

And the worst part of it: staff is absolutely unprofessional. They gave us a room that was already occupied by somebody else! When we opened the door with our electronic key, there were clothes and fast food bags all over the floor and somebody was taking a shower in the bathroom!

Never experienced something like this before, didn't feel safe that night at all. Would never stay "under the roof" again!

      Yuck!

      from

We ALMOST stayed at this motel, but checked out after we saw the room! It was not clean, in poor repair and had mold around the bathtub. Needless to say, we looked for and found much nicer accomodations at the same price.

      Complete Idiots

      from

I can't really comment on the hotel because they canceled our reservation which was already paid for. I called at 9pm to find out where to catch the shuttle when we got in since it would be really late. The desk clerk informed me they were sold out but I explained I'd made my reservation almost four months ago. She checked and said they'd pick me up and take me over to another hotel and they'd take care of everything. We got to the hotel by shuttle at 12:45am to find out we didn't have a room. There was a different clerk working and he said my reservation showed I'd called and canceled at 9. I told him what had been said and he said he was sorry but too bad. Offered to call me a cab, at my expense, and could recommend somewhere else to stay. the whole point of staying there was because they had shuttle service for airport and port and we wouldn't have to pay cab fare. We ended up staying at the Wellesly, which is way overpriced, paid $90 even though we got there at 2am. Had to pay out $50 in cab fare to get to hotel and to the port. All this for a room that was already paid for. I called and complained as soon as I got back home yesterday. Was advised they'd look into it but they would not reimburse for cab fare regardless of what happened. It was a really bad way to start a vacation.

Don't Book the Red Roof Inn Miami Airport!

      from

One word, Horrible! I was in great need of a vacation and I chose to go to Miami. I chose to save money so I booked with the Red Roof Inn across the street from the Miami International Airport, BIG MISTAKE! The washer machines ate our money, the dryer didn't work, the idiot at the frontdesk was incompetent! The ice machine broke, the hallways were anything but clean, and the people who stayed there tend to have many children and pets who are loud and noisy at all hours of the day! Did I mention the elevator broke twice during my two week stay? How about the part where the toilet talks to you during the middle of the night, "gurgle, gurgle." Oh what about the fact that they get stingy with the soap and towels and you have to be thoughtful enough to have brought your own soap otherwise you'd be showering using your shampoo and drying yourself off on dirty towels!

      Passable

      from

The hotel was passable. However, the bathroom didn't look very clean and staff was unprofessional. Shuttle service to and from the airport was fairly good. I regularly visit Miami and stay close to the airport and there are better hotels that cost the same. I just tried Red Roof last time and won't probably go there again.

      Awful

      from

Just one word could describe our stay at the Red Roof Inn - awful. We had pre-booked and pre-paid for 2 rooms some six months ago - and had both the travel agents confirmation and the accomodation vouchers. Due to some admin. error, Red Roof Inn had cancelled one of our bookings and after some persuading we managed to get the front desk to allocate us a room - which was smoking rather than the non-smoking room which we had requested. The room was absolutely disgusting, it felt and smelt unclean and the Staff were less than sympathetic. Don't make the same mistake that we did - it's worth paying a bit more and having a decent night's sleep than going for the cheap option.

      Good choice

      from

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Feb/04 and it was an overall pleasent experience. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and we used both the airport pickup service and the shuttle service to the port of Miami. Everything worked out great. The continential breakfast was good and there is even a nice family restaurant right next door. I would definitely stay here again.

We awoke? very tired the bed started out comfortable and we both got up stiff and sore from it being too soft. We headed to what they call a breakfast literally bread and water with 1 type of bagel, 1 type of bread and 1 type of prepackaged muffin and watered down apple juice and coffee and ice water. We left so stuffed we might have to skip lunch …

The cruise landed in Miami at 9am. It took a while to disembark the ship and get through customs but once all 24 of us were through, we said goodbye to those that were going their separate ways. 13 of us got on a bus/taxi to Jakes house (a friend from camp where we will leave our excess baggage while we travel). Once ...

For a while today, I wondered when I would get off to Miami. The flight before mine was delayed and delayed and delayed. Luckily, it got cancelled and mine took off only a little late. Considering the weather that was not bad. Larry drove me to the airport and I found the American desk to check my bags which took forever. While talking to the mother and daughter behind me I found out they are going on the same cruise. Then I found ...

... Georgia. I knew that without the sun I was doomed. The sun finally set in White Springs, FL, where we stopped for nursing and a short hike to work Andrew's "ya-yas" out. The town was interesting and filled with the ghost of songwriter Stephen Foster. The Suwanee, a river I live that Foster made famous, passes through the palmettos here. Busquios from huge bald cypress trees lined the path Andrew and I walked to the river. This must have once been a health ...

      Alligators and Miami Beach

... gift - froggy Bruno figure at a small store for dad.

We were in Miami a little over 2 hours and then headed to the Gator Park. I did a lot of research about which gator tours to take and Gator Park always have good ratings. The tour was fun. I liked the baby alligators. The fast drive in the Everglades was really fun too. I have forgotten what the guide has told us... and I lost the videos ...
