En dejlig søndag uden en sky på himlen en dejlig forårsdag.
Efter morgenmaden kørte jeg en tur på landet og kiggede på et fantastisk effektivt landbrug. Her dyrkes grøntsager i stor skala og jordbær i en lige så stor skala - alt der kan mekaniseres er mekaniseret. Rundt omkring på markerne står specialbyggede trailere med 2 toiletter og …
Dejligt vejr og høj sol efter en kold nat. Jeg valgte at forlade den primitive campingplads og følte mig lidt til grin ved at betale 45$ for en plads til mit eget telt - pladsen var fuld og det der fik mig til at tage beslutningen ved middagstid var mine nye naboer -en ungdomsgruppe på ca.20, men i modsætning til en tilsvarende dansk ungdomsgruppe …
... dinner. It was a great dinner of grilled fish, corn on the cob, and rice. Then we sat out on the beach and played some games. It was a little chilly, but a great sunset. We really loved this place and would definitely suggest it to anyone. The guy that was staying next to us said that it is rare for someone to be able to just pull up and get a spot on the beach. ... and a nice cup of tea. Not long after the lake we started to climb through the mountains and were soon surrounded by snow covered ground and trees. It was magical! Not long after that we started to descend the mountains and went back to views of lakes and trees, but we also noticed that the further north we head, the more it seems to rain. At 1pm we ordered lunch from Gregory and ate a veggie burger in the viewing/lounge car.
Unfortunately that was all we had time for as we couldn’t book another night in the motel (or we could but they were trying to double the price) so we had to press on to a camp ground.
We toyed with the idea of staying at Carpinteria again but then decided that we should try and get a bit closer to LA ...
