It reminded me a lot of Southern France with the houses climbing up the mountain all facing towards the ocean and a wonderful promenade along the ocean lined with restaurants and chic shops. Mapquest said we had a 3 1/2 hour drive to Indio so we should be there by 2:30 . The drive was not too bad until we got into Los Angeles. Palm Springs after we went to the Joshua Tree National Park, well we are doing something similar in that we are going to go to the Joshua Tree Park tomorrow, it's quite a drive to get to the entrance, but as I recall, a trip very worthwhile. Our hotel in Indian Wells is a very smart Hyatt, with several Pools which we tried out this evening, we ate in the restaurant as there is nothing really that nearby and we also just don't fancy going anywhere ...
