    Well it looked like I was going to have a long wait getting through security at SAN this morning, but after a scant 10 min, I was through both baggage check AND security... Thank you PreCheck!     ... it opened, it was the largest resort hotel in the world. It has hosted presidents, royalty, and celebrities through the years. The hotel has been featured in numerous movies and books as Wikipedia tells.

    Going there, I used the ferry and on the way back I took city bus #901 in order to drive over Coronado Bay Bridge.

    ... could be quite the experience particularly if we hit some rough seas during the next 35 days. Now I know how the Irish felt on the Titanic. We’re not planning any tours here in Victoria, just a shuttle into town to pick up a few supplies. We tried to contact David and Sandra for lunch but they are enjoying the weather in Portugal so it’ll be just Deb and I for the day.

    On our last day in America and with little to do in LA, we decided a wander down to El Segundo beach would be a worthwhile trek. This initially seemed to be an awful decision with a sewage treatment plant literally on the beach front. However, after a lot more walking we made it to Manhattan beach and spent a lovely day seeing the nicer side of LA.
