In Santa Cruz hani denn im Inn icheckt. DLag isch sehr guet, grad bim Boardwalk, d.h. am Strand. Aber i glaub, das isch biz jezt mit Abständ s grüsigschte Zimmer woni je gha han. Es isch also grad so an dr Gränze. I zie uff jede Fall mini Schue do inne nit ab, will dr Teppich gseht scho zimmli brucht us. Uff dr WC-Brülle sitzi sicher au nit lang ;). Und d Duschi und s Bett hani noni usprobiert... Vilicht ziehni au zum Schloofe no e Trainer a ... Naja. Sisch jo nur für ei Nacht.

... to happen late at night, but amazingly, after I landed at Monterey at 11:10 pm, they showed up about 10 minutes later. They even brought me an extra catered meal they had on board and gave me a ride to my hotel near the airport. Pilots - what an excellent community of people! did enjoy Santa cruz, hotel had best night sleep. Still got lots of homeless about but think that's America. Went out onto the pier, saw sooooo many sea lions all barking away under the pier, saw the seaside amusement park but doesn't,t run mid week but would be fun to see it at night. Surfers out at streamers lane but all mal riders much to nick ...
Big Basin Redwoods State Park
... Berry Creek Falls is pretty impressive. Silver Falls and Golden Cascade aren't as impressive but, since I was so close, it was worth the relatively short detour to see them.
I was pretty tired after the hike. I drove to Sunnyvale, one of the closest towns, and found a room for the night.
