Another day of good weather, 691 kms covered and two more states, Illinois and Iowa, are behind us.
The boys are really taking to this travelling lifestyle.
This was just a 2 night stopover in Omaha. We spent the day buying Christmas presents for Julie, her family, and her extended family who we would be spending our first White Christmas with. After travelling for 6 months without being able to but anything a little retail therapy was quite fun. Hours were spent finding just the right gifts for each person. ... each. If this place was in the UK you'd be looking at £30-40 minimum. Considering the zoo is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, we were very impressed. We then made the 2 mile walk in to town to the Upstream Brewery for beers and dinner. The brewery had been recommended to us by a lady we met in the queue for the Amtrak in Chicago, and she did not steer us wrong. The service was excellent. Had some great beers, very good burgers, and a free dessert ...
