... South Carolina. A town with endless tales of revolutionary war and amazing pre-civil war homes with lots of stories to tell. It's amazing to know that a city like Beaufort exists in America today. The architectural societies need to be applauded for saving so much of the history here. We loaded up on a wagon with Jake the horse at the lead and we click, clacked for close to two hours through the historic town ...

... another walk. The rain has stopped. I can not move. What was in the BBQ sauce?

The walk was very windy, kites were flying and a little boy was fishing with his Dad. Tomorrow we head back to Charleston to get Robert but before that we are going to tour a couple of plantations. With research we realize there is so much to see in South Carolina, all within an hours drive of Edisto.

The Island may get busier as Easter is around the corner and ...

After lunch we drove to the Edisto Museum. A great experience and an opportunity to read about the early residents and their continued history within this area. Generations of original families are continuing to care about this place, a place where roots run very deep indeed. I have told you that Edisto is treasured for its natural beauty, it's beaches and creeks, it's wildlife and it's laid-back easy way of life. But it is also treasured for ...
