... We had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. Along the way we saw some giant windmills, cattails lined the roads. We crossed into the US at the Blue Water Bridge - I was terrified driving across it - I hate driving on bridges- white knuckles all the way. It took about a half hour at the customs place because of traffic. But looking over the bridge at Lake Huron was gorgeous.

... Silent Night" in over 300 languages. Jim found an interesting fact about the reason "Silent Night" was performed with guitar for its first performance. The organ was in need of repair so it wasn't playable hence the guitar. He said if he had known he would have fixed the organ in time for the performance!

We head for Petoskey, MI Sunday. This stop should really be a step up for our stay. So stay tuned for the latest!

... former owner left an awesome double-decker bus, a telephone booth, a London mailbox and several other vintage items from England that helped give the hotel a distinctive feel. We celebrated the holiday weekend with a take in pizza and the movie channel. I took Tylenol p.m. both nights and thankfully slept pain free.

Gotta give Delta Airlines a shout out!

... have horrible records when flights our delayed. But once again Delta surprised us, indeed they did hold the plane. So after a frantic whirl through the JFK from terminal 2 to 4 or maybe it was 4 to 2 we reached our departure gate. The other eight Iceland bound people boarded the plane quickly however, for some reason my travel companion and I were not checked in and the flight was full. Margaret invited us plus Jan, Beth and Glenn to the country club for brunch - Mom resisted the Rachel (a turkey rueben by another name) for the Tar Heel pulled pork sandwich. I went for Ahi. We were all buffet'd out in Mackinac!
