Well, I-10 and I-12 are in no better shape than last trips. It's like riding a roller coaster for 2 hours. Luckily I-49 was much better. We took I-49 North to line up with Hwy 380 in Texas. This is a small 2 lane highway to nowhere. Roswell, The Very Large Array, Valley of the Fires and the Painted Desert are accessible from this road.

... garden. Many of the beds were completely empty of rose plants. Others were almost overrun with weeds. In others the rose bushes were overgrown and leggy. Grass clippings were on the sidewalks which were often cracked and chipped. There were gardens identified as test gardens that had no plants.

Well, it looks like a rainy day today. There is rain with thunder storms forecast. Well, it's spring. We’re staying in to wash clothes and make some changes in travel plans. We’re cutting out a couple of stops and getting to Asheville a bit earlier. We’ll return to Durham at the same time however.
