... along the Snake River. This is where we saw a small herd of buffolo right along the road. We made a big loop south and ultimately back north to Thermopolis.

One curious observation, the folks out here take great pride in the height of their mountains. No less than 3 people mentioned to us that in the east, the mountains tops aren't as high as the base of the mountains out west.

Interestingly, the smoke from all the brush fires around filled the air, blocking some of the views. In the morning and again this evening, it gives the sky an eerie orange/pink glow.

Here we are again on our way to Yellowstone. This time we stopped at Thermopolis. An adequate name for a great place.
They have hot springs here. ( the largest hot mineral spring in the world)
Soon we found out the besindes the commerical pools they have a state run pool for free. So guess were we went?
The pool and the facility is in very good condition. The water temperature is 104 F/ 40C. You are only allowed ...
