      ... km/hour in a maximum 80 km/hour zone. The officer kindly reduced our speed to 96 km/hour, when he wrote out a speeding ticket. If we didn't pay it, he added, no effort would be made to collect the money, but if we returned to the Ontario province within the next five years, the car would be taken away! We thanked him profusely for the information and went on.

      As of last week I have been accepted to teach abroad in China for an entire year starting this February 2015 with CIEE (Council on International Education and Exchange)! I cannot wait to see what I can offer the other side of the world and vise versa :) I won't be updating my blog much before I leave, but will try to keep up to date once I start my adventure on the other side of the world. I will ideally being doing at least 2 entires a week...fingers crossed.

      I'm 2.5 hours into my journey. My friend, Rhonda, is brave and nice enough to take me to O'Hare tomorrow for my 5:30 am flight. Yup, 5:30 am. I'm hoping to get three hours of sleep, if that. Tara is, or should be, in route to Miami. We will connect there tomorrow and then head to Puerto Plata.

      It has been hot and humid and I am cooling my heels at the lake house. My goals were to recover 12 dining room chairs and do a little dry wall mudding, sanding and painting. I love it here except that it has no air conditioning. No TV is not a problem. The fan helped a lot. I have caught up on some me time and a pajama day or two. I finished all of my projects and am ready to travel to the family reunion in Michigan ...
