    ... we will usually change our route to incorporate it. Always been worth it so far. Some of the houses along Lake Michigan were so large and opulent - mansions. Along the beaches, there were lots of people taking advantage of the good weather. The water in Lake Michigan is very very cold though we did see a few people swimming.     I'm 2.5 hours into my journey. My friend, Rhonda, is brave and nice enough to take me to O'Hare tomorrow for my 5:30 am flight. Yup, 5:30 am. I'm hoping to get three hours of sleep, if that. Tara is, or should be, in route to Miami. We will connect there tomorrow and then head to Puerto Plata.

    It has been hot and humid and I am cooling my heels at the lake house. My goals were to recover 12 dining room chairs and do a little dry wall mudding, sanding and painting. I love it here except that it has no air conditioning. No TV is not a problem. The fan helped a lot. I have caught up on some me time and a pajama day or two. I finished all of my projects and am ready to travel to the family reunion in Michigan ...
