... we stopped by a display of airplanes and weaponry. Dan took some pictures of those, too. He learned that this base was once the largest SAC Air Force base (SAC meant airplanes that carried nuclear weapons), but they closed the base (as an AF base) several years ago and made it a joint Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps air base.

... Catholics are doing in caring for the unaccompanied minor illegal aliens.

After the service (lots of good music, too!), we headed for the interstate to Fort Worth. It's a lengthy drive, with lots of flat land, lots of oil wells, and lots of high temperatures! (That's a lot of "lots!') There were also a goodly number of cows, pickup trucks, and bug splats.

... are no bigger than regular plane, almost seem more cramped. Hearing the people next to us speaking German makes it real. Pilot also. It is almost 6 pm but really 1 am in Germany. After breakfast we were off again. First we drove through the old Fort Wolters. They have used a lot of the old buildings as business warehouses but also have revamped several and people now live in them. After that short drive, we made our way into town to visit the Crazy Water store. Crazy Water comes from a couple of the mineral wells in this area. ... able to go into the Visitors Center and look around. We realized that the hotel we are staying in, is actually right inside the gate of Fort Wolters. There is a Medal of Honor Memorial Garden just down the street. After shopping, we brought daddy back to the hotel so he could rest. Then Bob went to Walmart while mom & I went to Save-a-Lot and Dollar Tree. When we returned to the hotel, we finished the game of dominos we had started this ...
