... and headed to the southeast coast and Freyciant National Park. Described as one of Tasmania's treasures, we looked forward to spectacular beaches and lively beach towns.

We found neither.

The beach was not expansive as pictures indicated, the skies were dark and overcast and a strong wind brought the temp to around 60 degrees. This was not the beach resort as advertised and clearly not the kind of tropical island we found in Thailand.
