... The pass was for 8:30-9:30pm so good thing we got it first off or we would have been waiting a long time for that ride.

The first ride we went on was Soarin' which is an IMAX-like plane ride through California hitting all of the popular spots. ... we got up, totally oblivious to the night time excitement, we got a pretty good story. At least where we live, even though we complain about the -30 temperatures, it does prevent scorpion infestations.

The rest of the day was a lot less exciting, though still fun. Everyone spent a few hours in the pool before the FIFA World Cup Final started while Michelle and Gina went off shopping. It was over 40C again today so the kids spent the afternoon indoors playing ...

... back to Oliver BC. It all looked quite different, except the swimming pool area was the same. The date farm had grown immensely, and Paul and I had a really lovely lunch there....including the famous date shake! We enjoyed a lovely day at Joshua Tree National Park which is a quirky high desert forest with spectacular rock formations. The Joshua trees were quite different from anything we saw before. ...

... and visited the Date Museum and 1909 Schoolhouse. Did you know the sod for the Super Bowl comes from here each year and it's a big deal when the trucks roll out with it? We have not googled to confirm said fact and Denis thinks some Super Bowl fields may be astroturf but she was so informative. After that a visit to a Shields Date Farm to have an amazing date shake. Had one in 2008 when here and tried two locations and found Shields to be the best. ...

After getting through Hollywood, we decided to call it a day and rest up at Walmart to finish 66 the following day. 66 was Santa Monica boulevard so we followed it in to Ocean Road and saw the pier where it ended.
