      Night before our Cruise

Wow...what a day! After our nice breakfast with all our new Buckeye "friends", we headed out for a beautiful day of driving through the southern states. Then, we hit Atlanta. Not a bad area...but this is where we picked up the storms...the rest of the way was pretty much similar. We had thunder storms with wind, rain, lightening, traffic, rain, …

The only reason I went to Fort Lauderdale was to get to somewhere else, and on that basis it’s been the most pleasant surprise of this trip. But, we were confident we could find our way even if we could not locate the markers for our Marathon friends told us we could ...

... a thrill but much too short at 30 minutes long. We saw many gators on our way out to the main marsh area where we moved and spun at high speeds. We also saw gators being fed and many displays. We enjoyed dinner at one of our favourite restaurants Sweet Tomatoes which is a soup/salad and pasta all you can eat buffet restaurant. Then headed to La Quinta where we were given a two room suite upgrade for free for the ...

      Sketchy Hotel

A travel blog entry by mompoole on Jan 17, 2014

Well, our flight down was okay. The connection to Charlotte was frantic. We had to boogie because we were delayed in Cvlle and there wasn't much wiggle time. Dad walked quickly. Then on to ft. Lauderdale. Now, about this hotel........Rodeway. The reason we picked this is because few hotels offer free shuttles from the airport and to the ship. Usually, you get one and the other is a "nominal fee". We have spent up to 40 bucks for a ride to ...
