Interesting note: Have you ever seen older farm houses where there is no grass around the house, where the dirt is swept clean? I now know why. The yards are swept clean to keep bugs and snakes away from the house. Who know?!?

... 60 so we didn't have much trouble. Man, there's a lot of tailgaters on the road...not sure where they think they can go with a dozen cars in front of them, all going 75 mph.

Lots of Cardinals calling around the park here...wonderful sound. We've stayed here before...nice beautiful park. ...

We began our trip to Oshkosh on Thursday morning. Lunch in Tifton, GA at Hog and Bone Barbeque. Good sandwich - there is also one of these in Waycross. Arrived at the campground around 2 PM after changing to central time zone. Our site is about 20 feet from the edge of the lake. We can watch the boaters from our bedroom window! We'll try to leave early tomorrow since it is another almost 300 mile day. ...

This is our first morning on this site and as the sun is cresting the trees on the far side of the creek, we are sitting in our car (heater on - it is 33 degrees), and the American Coots are collecting. (Yes, Virginia, they are preparing for their journey to Monona Bay.) They are so funny to watch dive for their food - they have a little "hop" before going under the surface. Oh, here comes the sun! There is a mist rising across the water.
