Great place to stay. The outside looked groovy, back a few decades. But step inside to the 20th Century with completely renovated rooms and good WiFi. A microwave would be good.

The manager, Ladd, was very friendly and gave us good recommendations for food and things to see in the area.

Despite the fact that Kanab, UT survives off tourism, during the winter months it goes into hibernation, so spending a couple of days in Kanab over the weekend was a nice way to relax and slow down the pace of our lives. The Saturday afternoon drive from Las Vegas is under four hours and even though it had been sunny most of the day, by the time we …

... outrageously trying to finish the Machu Pichu hike to be the first ones to arrive at the gate haha. We were racing around the hike like chickens with their heads cut off.

We get to the start of what was supposed to be “difficult”, and you’re literally walking up flat rock surfaces on what most people would call a steep incline. Aaron and I burn up it and get to our first sign that says “Partition Arch” and “Navarjo Arch”. We head ...

... we got a late start and someone was at our table! We had to split up and 2 and 3. We keep going the Spotted Dog cafe for breakfast because it is in all you can eat buffet with really good food for only $4.99! This was just the start of the busiest day yet in terms of crowds. After breakfast, we went over to Zion Adventure Co. to get special socks, shoes and sticks to hike the Narrows. The flash flood risk was “moderate” or ...

... rooms are much nicer. After unpacking we held an in-room social hour and headed to the main building for dinner. Our food was fresh and tasty. Our waitress, Holly, was great.

The cool mountain air and the events of the day hit hard after dinner and we all made one last trip through the gift shop and off to bed.

What a memorable Memorial Day. Next stop Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon.

After exploring the rim of the Canyon yesterday we decided to hike down to the bottom of the canyon. We decided to do the Navajo loop. But before we set off it started to snow, much to our delight. We walked down 400 feet to the bottom of the switch back trails, admiring the beautiful views along the way! Unfortunately what goes down must go back up. Needless to say we were tuckered out at the end. A quick lunch before we did a 2 hr ...
