... the rafters as we drive by. Much better ride that I expected, and happy to get a prolonged view of the Colorado River. Then we got to exits for Aspen, and further along, Beaver Creek and Vail. Beaver Creek and Vail were great because you could see the mountains and trails from the highway. Really nice looking communities. I skied at both in 1990, but I don't remember the communities. We had a laugh to see sushi ...

... to be fine. Fine. Just fine. Almost there. BOOM!!!

I can’t actually share my thoughts when we landed because my mother will probably read this. But I may have cursed a creative beautiful blue streak in a crying whimper, and then realized my face was wet with tears.

And, may I just remind you…we are in PUEBLO.

We sat on the runway for two hours, because, just in case you thought I was just being dramatic, there was a violent ...

4:15 a.m., the phone rings (ouch!).

5 a.m., I hop into the taxi for the airport.

7:30 a.m., I'm leaving Peru.

It's a bittersweet departure.

The advantage of a long travel day is it gives me time to reflect.

MSU Denver's trip to Peru was meaningful in ways I hadn't expected. It became a shared journey of discovery. One that cultivated new friendships and fulfilled bucket lists.
