    ... streams. The woods are hemlock and rhododendron, can you imagine this view in the spring. Waterfalls, there are hundreds splash over rocks to cascades that I am sure thunder over the cliffs when in full force. I am glad we veared off our route to see this area. I am sorry there is no photo but ice conditions did not allow the opportunity.

    Taking secondary highways we passed many small towns. There are some funny names ...

    ... while we were waiting to check in. We talked about the road, a guy thing, and he said that on one occasion he met a car and ended up on the swamp! Both sides of the road are swampy. A beautiful, but highly humid situation.

    Speaking of the weather, we had mostly sunny skies on the way down and it's about 80˚ here now and quite humid. No mosquitoes or other pests are around. We hope to stay here for a few days and explore the Outer Banks.
