I finally did it!!! Took the Brewery tour.

We left Arata early due to warnings about construction delays on route 299. We had to be in Chico before 4 for the brewery tour at Sierra Nevada.

The route we took (299) was a great road for the bike, but the construction delays were a bit of a downer. I liked several of the small towns we rode through, especially Weaverville.

We made it to Chico by 1:30 and checked into the hotel to get ready for the tour.

We warm up and I throw a few loose balls, laugh it off, but secretly on the inside I am shaking in my boots at the thought of letting her team down haha. Saturday, July 11, 2015. PCT day 83. Miles 1289.4-1310.4 Today was a tough day for me. For starters, I did not get good sleep last night at the Bratten's (trail angel's) home. There were about 10 other PCT hikers day and I slept in a very uncomfortable bed. I took the 6am shuttle back to the trail and had breakfast there. From the get go, I felt ...

... Fortunately I am not staying there. I have a package to pick up at the Brattens (trail angel) where i will also spend the night. Arriving there by 2:30pm, I had plenty of time to do laundry and eat at the Caribou Cafe close by. Ultimately, about 10 the hikers arrived here (Chowda, Cat Lady, He-man, Spontaneous, Wallaby, Mermaid, Burning Star, etc. Tomorrow I head out early. I have 20 plus miles tomorrow with 6000 feet of ...

... well. As I was nearing Buck's Lake Road, a mountain biker spooked me, coming at me from behind. WTF!!!! Apparently he ignored the signs plastered all over the trail. NO MOUNTAIN BIKES OR MOTORIZED VEHICLES. And he had the audacity to tell me to move. I said to him, "Do you know you are on the PCT? No mt. bikes allowed." He simply said, "ya, I know, have a good day." What a jerk!! Apparently other ...
