Left Kakabena Falls at 0600 this morning in a slight rain, which turned into a torrent shortly thereafter, and did not let up all day. It was also extremely foggy. I have never ridden that long in both bad rain AND fog. Pretty intense riding. I don't mind rain OR fog, but this was the worst of BOTH and for a very long ride.

We continue on east and then just a little north to the city that shares it name with its sister city over the Canadian border, Sault Sainte Marie. Our plan was to see the Soo Locks and then take a quick day trip in the truck over the border.
The Soo Locks have been referred to as one of the great wonders of the world and are still the largest & one of the busiest waterway traffic systems on earth! Watching huge vessels pass through the Locks ...

... yellow Studebaker on the marquee . . . and lots of auto memorabilia on the inside. Most important, there were lots of cars in the parking lot, but not too many!!
We had a decent meal. I had the soup & salad bar and a burger; Carol had a salad and beef tips. And, we skipped dessert.
We returned to the hotel. It was a terrible drive early in the afternoon, so we were ready to turn in . . . and did!!
