We found a roadside motel for the night, and after checking in, found a dingy little pub to have a beer, we needed it! When I say dinghy, I mean dinghy. 1 of those places were it is just a few old men dotted round the bar, drinking by themselves. 1 drink was enough for use!
... yellow Studebaker on the marquee . . . and lots of auto memorabilia on the inside. Most important, there were lots of cars in the parking lot, but not too many!!
We had a decent meal. I had the soup & salad bar and a burger; Carol had a salad and beef tips. And, we skipped dessert.
We returned to the hotel. It was a terrible drive early in the afternoon, so we were ready to turn in . . . and did!!
Our return trip had us falling from Lake Superior's height to the lower St. Mary's River. The level of our boat was easily seen by watching one of our crew chatting it up with a friend working the lines.
After experiencing the locks we drove across the bridge and had dinner at Arturo Ristorante in Ontario. Great food.

... and gloomy. We made it to Saulte St. Marie, viewed the docks, made a u turn and headed back down to the Mackinac Bridge.
Having been given tickets to the Detroit Tigers game the next evening, we decided to travel some distance before stopping for the night. At around 8 p.m. we found a state park and hooked up the electric in the rainy dark night. Very comfortable sleeping to the sound of the raindrops.
