This place is reasonably priced and very cute. Each room is decorated differently and very nice.

    We're off to the Sault

... about an hour and a half. Needless to say we got a little wet. We stopped at a rest area when the rain stopped and straightened things out, changed clothes cause it was cool and chilled. Driving in the rain, top up and with luggage on the back is not as much fun as top down driving. It has been about 38 years since last I visited the Soo. I wanted to take a picture ...

Left Pine Lake at 9:30, got gas at Extra Foods in Marathon, this seems a little dumb to be telling you this but on the main Hwy it is 131.9 and in town it was 111.9. So sometimes one must venture off the main road and explore to get the best deals.

The road to Sault St. Marie was very hilly and with the fog there was not a lot to ...

We had a decent meal. I had the soup & salad bar and a burger; Carol had a salad and beef tips. And, we skipped dessert.

We returned to the hotel. It was a terrible drive early in the afternoon, so we were ready to turn in . . . and did!!

    ... Lakes.

Our return trip had us falling from Lake Superior's height to the lower St. Mary's River. The level of our boat was easily seen by watching one of our crew chatting it up with a friend working the lines.

After experiencing the locks we drove across the bridge and had dinner at Arturo Ristorante in Ontario. Great food.

... and gloomy. We made it to Saulte St. Marie, viewed the docks, made a u turn and headed back down to the Mackinac Bridge.

Having been given tickets to the Detroit Tigers game the next evening, we decided to travel some distance before stopping for the night. At around 8 p.m. we found a state park and hooked up the electric in the rainy dark night. Very comfortable sleeping to the sound of the raindrops.
