... drivers and pedestrians. Driving in New York is not for the faint hearted! Once again Jackie has found us amazing accommodation. Our hotel is a large 3 bedroom apartment opposite Maddison Square Garden. Each large bedroom has its own ensuite and the apartment has 2 lounge areas and a dining room. We were stunned when we walked in and saw the space. In New York accommodation is expensive and is reminiscent of the shoebox we had in Venice. Well done ...

... and Ellis Island ticket. I was told it could be an hour wait in line to pass through Security Check (normal for all attractions now). They a pretty much the same as the Security check at any airport. Luckily the line moved through much faster and within about 30 minutes I was on the ferry. First stop, the Statue of Liberty. On arrival at Liberty Island I walked around the Statue of Liberty, taking lots of photos (of course). Unfortunately I didn't get to walk ...

The bacon cheeseburger more than lived up ...

... a GPS when you should be enjoying the park, but given the acreage, this time can be forgiven.

I started my walk at one of the southern entrances to park. My initial plan had been to walk the whole park, but upon a friend's advice and the fact that most attractions were in the south half of the park, it seemed only a logical decision to make. After taking a photo of the park and determining a general route, I set off, heading first to the Conservatory Water ...

The drive to NYC was long and pretty scary, we actually ended up driving in downtown Manhattan thanks to the 1980s sat nav. We said goodbye to our amazingly economic Toyota at JFK (did over 1000 miles on about $75, which is about £40)! Had another amazing suite at London NYC, which we managed to ruin the bathroom of with Halloween prosthetics. Halloween was awesome with EVERYONE dressed up...unfortunately we didn't wait long enough to get in the parade (not for ...
