I'm sure the FIRST La Quinta we pulled into is also nice, but I do wonder why they have two of them within a quarter mile of each other, on the same street no less. However, we only followed the Garmin around the same block twice before we found the CORRECT hotel.

Additional pointless text added here because Travel Pod says I have to type a little bit more to get the photos to appear in the text of this entry.

We set our alarms for 6 am. Rise and shine, the early bird gets the worm, etc. etc. etc… George had trouble sleeping and so he got up about 4am and emptied the black and grey tanks, hoping to make the day easier.

Everyone was friendly and eager to tell us about their jewelry, artwork, pottery, etc. Although I saw some beautiful jewelry of White Buffalo turquoise and Boulder/Ribbon turquoise, I resisted buying because I have a lot of turquoise at home. HOWEVER, I won’t guarantee that I’ll make it out of Santa Fe empty-handed!!! This is beautifully unique jewelry!

... to get an appreciation of nature and conservation and preservation.

We took three hikes in the park and saw some wonderful examples of petroglyphs.
