... driving around different parts of Albuquerque. We had a short walk around the downtown area and went for a little bush walk to see the Rio Grande River. Originally we were disappointed with what we saw but then we realised we were looking at the drainage channel and that we just had to walk a few hundred meters to find the actual river.
Albuquerque is a really cool little town to get a taste of the Mexican culture. ...

... bacon roll & Andy the turkey burger, which was really our brunch having missed out on breakfast with our early start. We set off again at midday towards next stop Tucumcari and over the border into New Mexico. Running low on gas, we needed to get off the highway to find some petrol, but the station we pulled into was closed and burnt out. About turn back on the highway we went. Just so you know, I am not the only one that thinks it is all about the bathroom. Chi Chi is having a difficult time with it all. The poor little doggy hunts an hunts around for the perfect spot to go. She wants grass not dirt. When she finds that 1 piece of grass sticking up she finally goes.

... We decided to sit upstairs in the "Cantina" and eat lightly. The food was excellent, and our server Bianca was great. Couple of local "Marble" microbrew beers were a perfect complement to my tacos. Went back to Bottger B&B, watched Olympics, off to bed. Tomorrow we leave New Mexico headed for Lubbock, TX, on our way to Fort Worth and Dallas (Wylie, actually) for the weekend.
