    ... most unexpected visitor we've had is a large turkey which paraded in front of us when we were out on our deck. It eventually flew off into one of the trees.
    The nice warm weather has come to an end with rather more extreme weather than we expected with high winds and rainstorms, and Hurricane Joaquin threatening to come up this coast. We're heading out to Boston for 3 days then down to NYC from there.

    ... opening to the public at 2:30 THAT AFTERNOON! The families of the crew and the passengers had been there in the morning for a private ceremony to dedicate the memorial.     ... of the club members owns an original Herreshoff Fisher Island 30 sailboat. It was built in the 1920's. The sister ship is in the Herreshoff museum where I volunteer, so seeing this boat on the water was truly a treat. Bruce and his wife graciously gave us a tour and shared the story of this classic.
