Speaking of hiking, Mount Greylock happens to be part of the mighty Appalachian Trail (lets call it AT for short!) As in the AT! At 2,100 miles long running from the State of Georgia all the way through to Maine you could say the 5 1/2 month expedition is one hell of a hike laced with all sorts of nasty surprises along the way...not to mention a few blisters!

It was a two hour train ride from Grand Central to the end of the line at Wassiac, in Massachusetts. From there I was picked up and driven another hour to Alford, home to the Bevans, Mary's relatives who have lived in the States for the last 50 years.
