      ... were some gray roads that ran north from our campground and east of the city. Part was thru the Indian reservation and had a dirt road for 4 miles through a citrus and pecan orchard and alfalfa fields. Then we followed a sign that pointed us to Needles 3 miles ahead and it lead us once again to the to Tonto National Forest. This is the 4th and final time we will travel this Forest since we will be heading Northwest tomorrow. Coming to the end was another dirt road and ...

      We were able to check into our hotel (Holiday Inn Express right near ASU) and get everything inside so it wouldn't be sitting in our hot car.       South Mountain park was surprising. I expected a lush mountain park like what we saw in Virginia. I didn't know a mountain could be so bare.
