Excellent location. Rooms on 5th floor or higher have view of lake. Rooms are small with some traffic noise. Very nice complimentary breakfast. Close to good restaurants. We recommend it.

It was chilly when we left Winnemucca...about 50 degrees. Fortunately the temperatures dropped as we gradually ascended to Lake Tahoe with temperatures in the 70s. We stopped in Truckee, just north of the Lake at the Donner Memorial State Park and Emigrant Museum. On such a …

I am now officially known as 'Skywalker'. This is both a reference to Star Wars (being taught everything trail related by another hiker ...

South Lake Tahoe This was never really part of our plan either but as we were only about 4 hours away we thought we would take a trip there! We arrived around noon and after spending a long time looking for a parking space we had a nice walk around the South part ...

... I loved going to SnowVentures with ski school - we skied and we went down a fast mountain where I went 60 km/ h, I nearly fell over, but I didn't. I went on a chair lift to get to the top of the mountain and that's when I went 60km/ h. Cathy's report: well what can I say - the kids have done the day justice ! Pete and I dropped the kids at ski school and took ourselves off to Alpine Meadow to put into practice what we had learned the day before. The ...
