... s ABSOLUTE favorite- chocolate marshmallow ripple! We ate too much but not all of it, (really, not all of it). A quick trip into the visitor center and off we go! ... in several places where I crossed the river to take R26 south to Sand Ridge State Forest a little south of Pekin. Surprised to find a pine forest and sand dunes in Illinois but this place has them both. The nicest primitive (no hookup) campsites that I have seen on the trip. Nice soft pine needle floor and well shaded sites.
