... time we were near Vegas we were both really fed up. Sorry Alau, for being such a ****** passenger. For the 1st time this trip we were not going well.

After returning the car and finding our way to the Greyhound depot there was just enough time to take a quick look around that crazy city then on the bus to LA. We arrived back in Santa Monica where, after a short delay, I was reunited with Nelson.

Alau, thanks for being a great guide ...

So, it's Tuesday already and we're already half way through our time in Santa Monica. And we've managed to accomplish quite a bit, as well as seeing in my 30th birthday! The drive from Santa Monica took a little bit longer than we anticipated! Traffic through Malibu on a Saturday is not ideal. We eventually reached Bay Street and descended on Jem and Ricky for a week in the LA sunshine! No sooner had we arrived, and it was time to change, brush ...

Ill never make that descent again.

There are drawings of a 4 million dollar home and began hiring architects in 1934. The plans show elaborate bedrooms and an indoor pool etc. In 1941 the plans stopped as the US entered WWII. So this guy Schmidt wanted to expand the compound and create a Nazi holdout till the war ended. But the natl. intelligence was watching him raided the place and ran ...

... to be right by a large high voltage electricity sub-station which was very interesting for Phillip. We went down Rodeo Drive where the rich & famous purchase their clothing and was featured in the movie Pretty Woman. We walked down the 'Walk of Fame' on Hollywood Boulevard where all the old and new movie stars have their names engraved in stars in the side walk. Billy Graham was also one of those. Down this street was the famous ...

... to Santa Monica. En route, we met Dennis, a Canadian from Melbourne who was killing a day in Santa Monica too, on his way home from - can you believe it - Guadalajara (where Seb & Laura's wedding is)! So we had a great chat about the "must do" spots in Mexico. He even called his mum for travel safety tips for us in Guadalajara and beyond, gave us his sim card (10 days of data) to use in Mexico and a very favourable exchange rate on his leftover ...
