    ... this is actually remote-controlled from Atlanta. Then we took a quick look at the vast Lake Michigan, which was understandably choppy given the fairly strong gusts that give Chicago its nickname.

    Walking back through town we spotted a small takeaway with a neon sign claiming ‘Best Italian Beef’. Not having yet sampled this local speciality sandwich, we ordered one ‘dipped’… in gravy = soggy deliciousness!

    ... the train. Only,it didn't turn up for about two hours. And I wasn't the only one with this problem. Thankfully they hadn't lost it but somehow the bag didn't make it on to the carousel. I suspect immigration marked it with something to suggest I should have life made as inconvenient as possible

    ... level. The Chicago Lighthouse is a charitable trust, with a massive board of directors, that is non-profit, but very well resourced. They have many departments and my visit was arranged by Dominic the Vice-president of the public relations department.
