... from plastics washed up from sea rubbish which makes us all realise how sad and unsustainable our ways are. Having seen the disgusting sad state of the beaches on the west coast of Bali with the shredded and colourful plastics washed up in enormous quantities I knew exactly how bad things are in some places where currents and tidal surges send rubbish back to the beaches. Not to mention the cost to the wildlife when these plastics fill their guts or snag them and ...

... big plays for both teams. No matter the outcome, every single person who attended the game or watched from home felt the same pride in our schools and the fairytale stories that led to those final 13 seconds. ... darned good!
After the family retired for a nap, I hit the gym for a rather intense lifting session. The gym was pretty good, and I had it all to myself. That made me feel a whole lot better! I roused the sleepy family for dinner at Paparazzi, the restaurant at the hotel. The food here is excellent, with great service and fabulous local wines.
All in all, a pretty good first day in LA. Early start tomorrow to the Grand Canyon.

... But we thoroughly enjoyed the Cafe nearby, think it was Casa Blanca. My nachos order without cheese caused some comment and Dean had the first meal he could eat all of :>) The coastline is just fabulous all the way down to LA, even after the Big Sur ends. Grandiose mountains, beautiful blue seas, many white sand beaches (almost as good as Australia). The persistent fog amazed me - created in summer as explained by Ish and Jeff by cold deep water coming to the surface off ...
