... first thing on display was the Apollo 11 Capsule. This had carried the first humans to step on the moon and brought them home again. I was surprised to see it. I couldn't touch it directly, but I could see inside and place my hand on the perspex only inches from the surface. I cannot remember being moved to tears by an object in a museum. ... with much choice! Everyone came away empty handed, but glad we made the effort.

As we were pretty much in the middle of nowhere, without a cab, we walked back to a nearby bar / restaurant we'd passed in the cab earlier and enjoyed one or two (strong) cocktails before asking for a cab back to our hotel. ... to Phoenix was delayed but that just meant that the time waiting for the Vegas flight was shortened. The plane touched down just after 11, straight off the plane and onto the pokie machines if we chose. The airport was full of them and TV screens everywhere advertising everything.
