      We have been on the road for nearly 3 months, and we also have had to do all the necessary stuff of changing our address. We thought Coffs might be a good place to stop for a while, receive some mail, get paperwork updated, and have some "break" time. Knowing that, I put the call out via Facebook asking if there was any quilting or sewing groups that were meeting during this time, what quilt shops to visit and also where could I baste a quilt or 2 ?

      ... we headed to Dorrigo National Park and the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre with its café and shop in the treetops. After lunch we donned our boots for the Wonga Walk, a 5.8km, one and a half hour circuit through Gondwana sub-tropical rainforest, experiencing two magnificent waterfalls. So much like home!       ... Scottish origins and the pole painting came about with the arrival of the Olympic torch in 2000, when originally only a few poles were painted, however the community liked it so much that it continued and now over 200 poles are painted and include Scottish clan names.My bus arrived at Coffs Harbour on time - apparently a very rare occurrence!       ... and chill. So we finally did so and we were able to catch a few big waves (but maybe not surf to the shore as I had hoped) but we saw a turtle!!! While we were sitting there catching our breath, I pointed out that I saw something...maybe a fish or bird and then our instructor pointed out that it was a big sea turtle. Aaaaaahhhhhhh.....awesome! Loving life moment right there. And that concludes surf camp. We ended up a bit beaten up...Kristen sunburned and I bruised ...

      ... still waiting to see some dolphins up close!! The trip was brilliant and before we knew it we were back to shore. We arranged to go for dinner that evening as a group at The Beaches, a busy bar in Airlie Beach. My Canadian friend Dave came to meet us and we all got a few jugs of beers in and then decided to hit the Irish bar, wonder who's idea that was!!
