Good value hotel in small town

Clean tidy hotel with big room and good value for money. Did not expect this quality in such a small town. Friendly check ion staff gave good suggestion for dinner at near by fish cafe - worth the short drive to eat freshly caught white fish.

Slow start to the day - that was great. Headed off with Madge in our car to 12 mile beach to find the White Birch trail. Camp ground was well sign posted but the walk was not. However Madge and Wes did find the trail which was a lovely 2 mile walk. The walk climbs up on a ridge and travels along the top through changing forest. We saw White Birch …

Pancake Bay Provincial Park was on a lakeshore beach of Superior. We camped within earshot of the shore and then in the morning found a beach section with picnic tables nearly in the lake. That's where we ate breakfast and mapped out the day. Seeing Superior's waters in the calm ...

Got up this morning and couldn't decide if we would stay another day/night, but we did decide to stay. It was an overcast day and they are predicting some bad weather coming from the west to the east---we'd be driving right into it if we left, so I am glad we are staying another night despite the mosquitos. Took a ride in the opposite direction ...

... real nice ride to the Tahquamenon Falls State Park. It is known for its waterfalls and they are just breathtaking. We hiked both the upper and lower falls and took tons of pictures. I may need a bit more time to get those pictures loaded on here. We left our campsite around 10 this morning and did not get back until 4. It was supposed to rain today, but it turned out to be ...

Our purpose in coming to this area was to visit the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. We found Andres Lake State Forest Campground a few miles north of Paradise. A pretty little lake with nice fall colors and good fishing nearby. Sites are spread out so you get privacy and are good for tent or RV, even larger ones since the sites are quite large.

We explored the area with a hike while looking for a cache which brought us to ...
