... miles were better. When I reached 7000 feet elevation, I had phone signal, so I called Vanessa and talked for about and hour. I was surprised to even had phone signal when I got done for the day at mile 1310. The weather was pleasant today. It was cool, at time chilly. There were lingering rain clouds but no rain today. ... The water sources were not that spread out. And even if they were, not a big deal because it had been not hot at all. I made it to the Middle Fork of the Feather River, not realizing how much elevation it dropped. Down to 3000 feet from 7000. This river is nice, with warm water and a nice swimming hole. I am glad i camped here. Tomorrow I have a steep climb out of ...

... as a lock, and an outdoor view. Luxuries I learned that were not afforded to the young ladies the previous years. So "Project Latrine" was a success.

As the girls made attempts to enjoy the lake with half hearted attempts of actually getting wet, I enjoyed the peacefulness of a night out with my wife. A romantic dinner of "add hot-water" lasagna and a bottle of fresh non-filtered ...
