We left Arata early due to warnings about construction delays on route 299. We had to be in Chico before 4 for the brewery tour at Sierra Nevada.
The route we took (299) was a great road for the bike, but the construction delays were a bit of a downer. I liked several of the small towns we rode through, especially Weaverville.

With everything packed and the girls situated in their groups we eagerly took off. Adios city, cell phone and comforts. Hello country, conversation and camping. In the Expedition we had a small group of 6 girls plus Amor and I. Our 2 ...
