Of course it was only by accident that we managed to spy the cute little guy. We had stopped to take our jumpers off, not even in a proper 'turnoff' just on a space big enough to pull off. We got out to do that and to take a photo of another cactus, when Ken noticed some bees on a bush of flowers. And then he saw it, thought it was a big insect. Firstly though we decided to stop off for breakfast in what looked like a small, cosy, classic American diner, Billy Reed's. However when we walked in we were welcomed to a saloon style diner which looked like it was from the 1850s. Complete with a ballroom, a wild west bar and twelve dollar pancakes. It was a strange ...

Relaxation, reflection and missing the Camino

A travel blog entry by travelmariposa on Jul 15, 2012

... and tears that fell from the depth of my soul. Human emotions never felt so strong. I listened to the peaceful sounds of nature, the beautiful music of churches and cathedrals, and to the many life stories of other pilgrims that walked this sacred path. I prayed in Spanish, going to evening Vespers, praying the rosary, and going to mass. I meditated in the mornings as I would pray the rosary, my body would stretch with yoga, I would be ...
