... had a mini mass. After church we picked up a couple of things from Whole Foods Market so mum and dad could cook dinner. They made meatballs, they were really nice. Then we drove to a park with lots of Christmas lights and walked around in the cold looking at all the pretty lights. We drove back home and Skyped the family, it was really nice to see everybody and wish them merry Christmas. Everybody went to bed excited for the following ...

Flying IAD-DEN

... Economy Class is oversold by one, for a total of two seats open on the plane. I’m still third on the SA list, but the only standby who’s checked in so far. I’m also the only person checked in so far on the upgrade list. The seat map shows four BF seats open: 1K, 3L, 4L, and 5B. Fingers crossed one of them has my name on it!

If not, I’ll overnight at DEN again and try for Wednesday’s flight, which is currently showing 15 BF seats open and I’d be #8.

... a little detour--after all, we are on a road trip, right? So, we gassed up the Altima and headed out on the blue roads. We got as far as Mankato, KS, before we got so close to a quilt shop, the gravitational pull made us park there and go in. "Hidden Treasures" was a pretty cute little shop, and aptly named, since it is hiding behind a closed hair salon. The proprietor is very friendly-- her ...
