... different dive site to anything I've seen before. Although I really enjoyed it I think I prefer tropical water...much warmer and more colourful.

The next day we walked from the hostel into Whangarei town...past the pretty Whangarei falls and through lots of native bush, then later that afternoon we got the bus back to Auckland.

Only 1 day left in New Zealand!! arghhh!!

... which Bob had also been looking at, so we headed there. It was remarkably unremarkable. I'm sure it would have been a lot cooler had the tide been in, but as it was, it was a rickety wooden bridge over a wide expanse of mud. Wanting to make the most of one of the Southern Hemisphere's claims to fame, we walked clear to the other side. Then we walked back. Then we drove away.

... at the hill by the park to finish off their beers, so we helped them, as any Canadian would.

Although it was a pretty windy day, the rain held off while we took in the match. Our tickets were open seating, which menat that we sat on a grassy hill overlooking the pitch. We had a GREAT view, and eqully important, we were very close to both the bathrooms and the beer line!!
