Osprey on the Gulf
Travel Blogs from Panama City Beach
Never changed the alarm clock and woke up early for a breakfast. Then Coach Crawl to go through all the different units. We had a group shot photo. Then for a Soup Supper catered. Very hood homemade soup and desserts. Hung around for a little karaoke. Ate dinner with Jim and Nadine, Lester and Margaret. Pooped ...
... has been rubbish today as our hotel is right on the beach so we could have made good use of the beach volley ball net outside but as its tipping it down everyone just stayed in their rooms until it was time to leave. For our included dinner tonight we drove to the 'Hofbrau' beer garden restaurant which was about 15 minutes away from our hotel. It was a real German style of restaurant, the waiters were dressed up in stereotypical German clothes and there were HUGE beer glasses ...
... of the nicest state parks you can find. Our only problem was – "guess what?" it was cold.
Hunkered down for three nights in the cold, Mary and I took a few hikes around the park. When we hiked to the beach, the 2 miles of beach was empty. A beautiful beach with fine white sand and picture perfect in gulf colors. As far as you could see, no people. A nice way to be at the beach but ...
... with our old autopilot had left him thoroughly traumatized. Still, in spite of all these preparations and intentions it was good to have friends to follow. And so our last leg of the trip to Panama City began. In tandem with our friends, we pulled up anchor and shoved off. We spent a very short time on big, shallow water before entering the portion of the ICW known as "The Ditch", or as our friend calls it, "Skinny Waters" (she calls any narrow body of water "skinny"). ...
... road. We picked up our supplies, along with some ice for White Russians, and were all set. Husb had attempted a fire once before and the wood failed us - he’s an excellent fire maker (Manuel to some) so it was frustrating but we chalked it up to the wood. Well, this time around he was not taking no for an answer. After at least 30 minutes of constant prodding and fueling the fire, it started. Again, I will chalk this up for the wood and hope that we ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Osprey on the Gulf Panama City Beach
Stay away from the Osprey!!!
Rudest employee's I've ever met. I've never been treated so horribly by hotel staff anywhere. Would not recommend staying at the Osprey.
Besides being rude, the hotel is falling apart. Be careful when standing on the balcony!
My family and I have stayed here for years. The hotel management always makes it VERY family oriented. You never turn around without seeing a smiling face! We will continue to stay here for our vacations.
We stayed at the Osprey Motel during Spring Break and loved this hotel.
It was a very family friendly motel considering the time of year we went. The beach was picture perfect. Also, the location of the hotel is a little to the west of most of the action, but it is still in a great location for shops and restaurants. The only complaint that I had was with the front desk staff. I encountered one rude employee, but I didn't let it hamper my stay!
The Osprey is definitely a 1st class resort, couldn't expect anything more from a hotel. The rooms were magnificant and the price was unbelievable. Great deal.
Great family trip
my family and i stayed there about 7 years ago and loved the place. the location and the cleanessof the motel was great. i hope to get to come back this year.
We enjoyed it so much.....
We enjoyed our first visit to the Osprey in October of 2002 that we went back and were married on their beach in May of 2003. Wonderful Staff! Joanie at the desk is especially terrific and Daryl at the tiki bar makes a great Pinal Colada! The rooms are always spotless (thank you Becky in housekeeping) and it is very sad when the time comes to check out.
Thank you for the champagne and we hope that you enjoyed the cake! We will be back.

We stay there every year and have enjoyed every visit. Nice staff and clean rooms. Looking forward to our next visit.
The Osprey, you can't beat it!!
My family first stayed at the Osprey 7 years ago and have stayed there every year since. The rooms are clean and roomy, the staff is excellent (we love Mike) and they are family oriented. The also have a tiki bar which is very nice as it is also kid friendly. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.
I recently stayed at the Osprey. the staff was nicer than what i normally run into. Mike was especially accomodating. The rooms were clean and fresh as well as entire hotel. I will definetly go back there to stay and enjoy every minute as well as I did this time. Thanx guys, especially Mike and Tammi.
Awesome place to stay...
We stayed at the Osprey 2 years ago and loved it. It is located on the strip, but a mile or so from all the action. We could drive everywhere we wanted to go and it was nice. The hotel room was large and clean, the staff was great, and the beach was awesome. Can't wait to go back!
