... explosion. The Holy City, a rock formation resembling the ancient city of Jerusalem is one of many stops as I make my way around Yellowstone Lake. I have entered the east entrance of Yellowstone and will exit thru the south entrance, a very worthwhile twenty dollar toll. Saturday, September 20th, - West Yellowstone, MT to Lander, WY

Traveled today along Hwy. 287. I do believe this is one of my favorite drives. The wildlife in Yellowstone NP and the ever changing scenery and vistas were incredible.

... Scott and Darrell (yes, really!) - two really friendly, chatty guys from Tennessee. We also did some climbing at Wild Iris, nearby, and another day at Sinks. We enjoyed the climbing, but our overall impression was that the routes were undergraded. Well, either that or we're not as strong as we thought we were. ...

... and who doersn'f like snow capped tetons?) across Jackson lake were little short of breathtaking. The other thing that I particularly liked about the Grand Tetons NP was that those bloody annoying tourists didn't seem to know the place existed. There was no competing for spots for a view, no hassles for parks, and no gigantic RVs clogging the roads.

If there was anything to complain about it ...

Another sunny, hot day. The plan was to go camping at Big Horn National Forest but after a 2 hour drive through the fields of Wyoming, we found that most of the camping sites in the forest were closed due to snow. We found a nice picnic area & sat, ate lunch and looked at these snow covered twin peaks ( Big Horn Peaks) another beautiful site.

We then decided to go to Thermopolis, Wy , the location of Hot Springs State ...
