... between two mountain ranges: the Boston Mountains, and the Ouachita Mountains. We drove by Carrie Underwood's home town, a small town not too far from the Arkansas border.

Just before we stopped for the day, we drove into Henryetta to buy a few groceries at WalMart. We drove the length of Main Street, about one mile long. The street was lined with dilapidated store fronts. If this is typical then small town Oklahoma is in trouble.

... was 2 lanes, now we can make some time. I drove until 1:18pm. We stopped, in Russellville, AR., got gas, hunted for a park to make sandwiches, but to no avail. Instead of wasting more time we saw a DQ and got their $5 lunch. Back on I-40, and guess what, right into construction. Stop and go, 40mph at most.
