    ... that it was a long weekend and everybody was here, so we stayed Saturday night in a Cracker Barrel shop car park.     ... was still mobbed midweek. I think the last time in went in 2005 was in May sometime before Memorial Day. The town was lovely even if the water was too frigid to spend much time in it.

    Tomorrow we move on - catching the 10am car ferry (2hours.30min) to Lewes, then dropping South over the Chesapeake bridge-tunnel to Virginia Beach a further three and a half hours car journey.

    ... Cape May lighthouse.. Standing 157 feet tall, we then climbed the 217 steps to the top (oh dear the thighs were screaming on reaching the top). BUT the views from the top were worth it- see for miles , over wetlands and ocean beach- including the WW2 bunker still standing proud but abandoned on the beach.
