Watched the tennis til it was time to go at 11am. Hope Federer wins. Train to Newark Airport to pick up our hire car, then drive on the I95 to Branford. The trip involved subway to Penn Station, New Jersey Rail Road to Newark Airport Station, then air train to P3 where the hire cars are. All pretty smooth and painless getting the car. No set agenda for the next few days - just 4 days to drive about 8 hours up to Ontario. First driving in mainland US. Since we made a wrong turn before ...

Riley and Mikey were slightly more apprehensive with one another. I'm sure by the end of the summer they will be best buds. Amanda and Mike also have an 11 month ...

Originally we were going to head back to DC to see the rest of the sites, but decided to do one long day of driving to get within a few hours of home. That is the great thing about camping. You can leave your itinerary open and book campgrounds the same day! We want to spend our last weekend of vacation relaxing. It's nice to be back in New England, but it is COLD! Oh wait, did I already ...

... a 4:30pm passage on The Long Island car ferry, and at 4:12pm, watching summer fading into fall behind slow-poke Rodriguez, we were white knuckled pressed to meet our 4:15pm load time and not forfeit our pre-paid fare.

As it turned out, we forgot the Aussie mantra of "don't sweat the little stuff" and suffered unnecessarily. We joined the car queue at 4:22pm and the attendant even offered us the option of the 4:30 ferry or the following one at 5pm. Still, the little ...
