... City Hall and Theatre, still being used as a theatre and cinema to this day. 10 minutes later we are back on the bus and heading for the Convention Centre. Built and opened only five years ago but it would appear to be working by the number of people in their. Bob has been fantastic really, he has been such a character. We crept out of Southport with maybe 50 ft viz at dead low tide that was just starting to reverse. We were using DR, GPS, VHF tuned to 13/16 with foghorn in hand and literally went mark-to-mark the entire way up the river. Radio protocol ...

After a good night's sleep, we awoke to find bagels with our names on them in the hotel lobby and quickly began the second half of our journey to Oak Island. We piled into the car and headed from Wilson to our next destination, Garland N.C.

Before we could make it to Garland, we spotted a sign on the side of the road that could not be ignored... "Mount Olive, N.C. - Pickle Capital!" We drove through the town looking for the famed Mt. Olive ...
