... We were a might early for the fireworks. About an hour and a half.
So 9pm come and goes, ok the murmur on the boardwalk suggests 9:30.
9:30 comes and we can see a sprinkle of light.
So it appears the advise we were given of where to see the fireworks appears to have been an epic fail!!
We were at the end of 20th street and they were down the bottom end of the island near the Brooklyn bridge. Ahs well. Walked back up 20th toward the comedy house. Once we got ...

... way. At Brooklyn Heights we made our way down to the water. Another disadvantage of the weekend was that there were people everywhere, and we remarked that when living in a city like New York, the locals go to leafier areas for picnics on the weekend so they dont have to stay inside their appartments. ... night in Long Branch which is just a very small beach town. Was very quiet only locals in town as the 'jersey shore' summer holidays haven't started yet which you could tell as it was freezing!! We had dinner at a local diner, where every set of eyes was on us as we soon found everyone was really interested to find out why we had chosen to stay there. Was also very interesting listening to the family sitting adjacent with their TWO nannies ...

... we could afford that, so we turned up at the theatre prepared to walk away empty handed. I'm not sure if we were just lucky or if the nice man in the office took pity on me in my ridiculous hat and scarf combo, but he said he had two single seats left one in front of the other and was prepared to give them to us for less than half price! It just goes to show, its worth chancing your arm and it doesn't hurt to look a bit daft at the same time :-) The show was awesome and I ...
