We woke early (reluctantly) and jumped on the metro to Universal City where a trolley bus was waiting to take us up to Universal Studios! We were both very excited to see what was in store. I was also terrified. For those who don't know, I get travel sick and don't do rides/roller coasters. I'm terrified of them. So I wasn't going to go on anything remotely scary/vomit provoking. We were awake very early, having trained our bodies to rise with the sun! After a leisurely breakfast we headed off to universal studios. We decided to rent a wheelchair for me to rest my sprained ankle, which had both pros and cons. It was not so easy negotiating the crowds with a wheelchair (except for the odd wheelchair ramp which turned into a white knuckle ride with Alex driving!!). ... I went for waffles with syrup (who wouldn't want free waffles?!). After this, we got the 720 bus from down the road to Santa Monica bay for a day at the beach.

One on the seafront, we found our way onto the beach and relaxed for the whole day. The beach itself is lovely and large, there is plenty of room for lots of people. The facilities are good and there are restaurants and places to get food ...

Thursday: It the morning and early afternoon, I read for the upcoming class, relaxed a bit, and shot baskets until my arm hurt.
