      ... the Soloist. It was dark when we checked in so we couldn't see our view - a surprise awaited us for the next morning. As we hadn't eaten dinner, we decided to head out to a mall, grab a bite and see if we could complete our shopping list before the shops closed at 9pm. I had forgotten how nothing in LA is close .... what looked close on the map took us 30 minutes to drive to (and I had initially suggested maybe we walk, we only drove in case we had parcels on the way back ....). ...

      ... day session and the night party tonight gave me a better appreciation of just how big of a deal it is. If this is the hype at Disneyland in September I hate to see it at the end of next month when Halloween actually rolls around. And these costumes were off the chain. At one point we nearly mobbed a woman wearing a Elsa/Ana coronation dress (I can't remember which is which) until I realised she was a guest and not a staff member. The dress was amazing. ...

      ... there swimming circles and diving. Just beautiful to watch - they are so immense. We overhead a park lady telling another person to arrive at the gates about 10 minutes before half past as they open the stadium at half past. So off we trotted and sat down in the blazing sun to wait. If we have any criticism of our day it is to do with that sun. Every show was outdoors, every show was in the direct sunlight. We had read some reviews before going about people not thinking SeaWorld ...

      All but one of us, Mark being the early bird up at 8:00, slept until 9:30! Egad, can't remember the last time we slept so late.

      It was predicted to be in the mid-90’s today, so Mac and Josie went straight to swimsuits this morning, with Cheryl quickly following. Mark stayed inside for a bit longer, joining all of us at the pool around 12:30 p.m. Of course, the staff came by several times with popsicles.
