... that we realised that by 'flying fox', the sign had actually meat bats. There was a whole colony living along the creek. It was about an hour from dusk when we arrived and so most of the bats were still asleep, but every so often we would see one flying around or stretching it's wings.
From where we were standing, we could see across to the other side of the creek where every tree as far as the eye could see had about a hundred bats hanging from its branches. ...

On our final day in Australia, we had lunch on quirky Brunswick street and spent the remaining time pampering ourselves. It was sad to be leaving the country we felt was like home yet so far away.
